We have been looking at class A's...our first RV of any sort, and are totally confused!! We love the livability of over 35', but I have heard that the shorter lengths are better. We are really torn!
We plan to be on the road for 6+ months at a time, so we will be practically living in it. The wife cooks a lot, mostly from scratch, so having a decent size kitchen with some counter space is important.
We would like to camp inside the national parks. But, if we can't, can we boondock inside the parks somewhat near the park campsite areas? I have no idea how all this works, as we have never camped in national parks.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Story short. There's not many that you won't be able to get into with any size and not worth it, in the long run to downsize your wants and needs for the rest of the time. Of all the lower 48 states and with every park we've ever been in, there was always someone in there larger. Once is a while, you'll make a call ahead and be convinced that they aren't lying about the size of their sites, but again, this isn't often, as most don't have a tape measure or if they do, they don't know how to use it. Many throw a log at the rear of the site and measure from there, without realizing that one's overhang, will put it a lot further back.
This discussion comes up often and seems that the NO's are pretty much those who have smaller rigs. The larger owners, always seem to say....no problem! As for toad's, there's always a place to put them, as well and rare that it's not at your site.
