Don't forget that this particular trickle charger monitor's the chassis battery's state of charge, and if fully charged, turns itself off.
It appears that you are not getting it.
I will try one more time.
The NAME not withstanding, a unit that works like that should NOT be referred to as a "trickle" charger because trickle chargers apply a small charging current flow the entire time that they are connected and turned on. One that automatically vaires the current or automatically turns itself on and off should NOT be called a trickle charger......because it is NOT.
Or, a small charging current until the battery is fully charged, then monitors for voltage drop. And turns on to trickle charge again. Yes, I call that a trickle charger, whether you want it called that or not.
What you are describing is a "dumb" trickle charger. What we have here is a "smart" trickle charger, but still just a trickle charger. Electronics have come a long way since you just plugged in a 10 amp battery charger and had to remember to run unplug it before it fried a battery.
As far as me not getting it, I won't get it because I believe you are wrong. There is a difference between "not getting it" and not agreeing.
