Best place to mount a spare (without a rim attached)

So, after our recent tire debacle we've decided to carry a spare with us wherever we go. Problem is I've got matched tires, but 3 different Rim types on the RV. So I'll be carting it along as just a tire.

Question, how does one attach a rubber only tire to the RV? No provisions are made to stow it in the under bays (all too small).

Suggestions?

I also put one around a center roof vent on a previous MH...put something under it so it does not make water come in the vent. Did not fasten it down.
  • I wrapped it and put under the bed, yes it was a 22.5 tire and it fit just fine.
  • Have a welding shop make a rack above your hitch to haul it. It doesn't have to have a rim if the carrier is designed for a tire to just slip in from the top.
If done right it will not interfere with a tow bar or anything else. The only other place is the same type of rack on the front of your coach.
  • I had a bornfree class C had a fancy roof rack at the top of the ladder I had a vinyl bag made and mounted up there.
