Best RV toilet brand

We're looking to replace the toilet in our motor home. Current one is a Thetford. I've looked on line at toilets and there seem to be many models and features to consider; some advertise water saver feature. Not looking for anything fancy like china, but want a good quality toilet. Any suggestions would be apreciated.
  • We've been extremely pleased with the Dometic Sealand Traveler 510 plus that came with our 2000 coach.
  • If you have power nearby and can handle the retrofit, I really like our Thetford Techma. It is an electric toilet with a "house style flush" and a builtin macerator.

Totally eliminates black tank problems, no more poo pyramid. Nothing solid will ever get into the black tank again.

Downside is it uses a lot of water.

Yup, replaced ours with a Sealand 320 Toilet. A good choice.
  • i replaced our old Aqua Magic plastic toilet a couple months ago and went with the Dometic 311 low profile(same as 310 only bone color).I bought a 1/4" riser from the hardware store, turned it to the 3 and 9 o'clock position, siliconed and then screwed to down. Waited until the next day to set the toilet and all is fine. The gasket will compress a little more than usual but still seals. I know one person that heated up a spare toilet bolt enough to push the bolt through the flange around to the correct position. It's doable either way, the other mentioned toilets are fine but not for the budget minded IMO
  • We just replaced our old Thetford, planed on "China" but the tie down bolts would not line up on this upscale model. We had to settle on a Thetford Bravura. which has a 5 and 11 clock bolt pattern to match existing configuration.

  • I don't know if there's a "best" brand, but...I'm in the midst of replacing my old Thetford unit with a Dometic 310 toilet. It's china, but at a plastic price. It has an 18" seat height (residential standard) and a residential sized seat. Mine will be here Monday - I had some floor work to do in my 30-year-old rig first. I'm thinking it will be a nice upgrade. It's got great reviews for the most part.
