Best time to purchase

Looking for opinions, please. We're considering purchasing a used motorhome in Jan/Feb timeframe. We'll be attending the Tampa Supershow and will be looking at both the Lazydays and North Trail dealers. My question is this. Is it more advantageous to purchase BEFORE or AFTER the RV show. When would the dealers be more apt to clear their lots of used motorhomes? Thank you in advance for your inputs.
  • I've been told (for whatever in the world that means) that the best time to buy is the same period the dealers and manufacturers are slow. Thats basically November through February. I plan to test that theory at the Tampa show myself. I will order my coach in January for deliver in May!

I plan to hedge my bet a bit as well. I'll contact six dealers for their best price prior to the show and then see the deal I can get at the show! Let the games begin!!!

If you find a dry one you like, buy it.

Buy a Moisture Meter, it's a good investment when shopping for a RV.
  • I find the best time to buy is when I can afford it.
  • The best time to look is in the middle of a drenching rainstorm. That is when you can detect where it is damp, where it is wet, and where water is just soaking everything.

I have gone into units and there was an inch of water on the kitchen counter. Another one had about half the mattress just soaking wet.

  • just my though, find the rv you like ,deal till it fits your wallet. and enjoy the rv.
