Best Tow dinghy

I don't think any Hondas with auto are now authorized to tow 4 down. get something that requires "NO" modification to tow, no lube pump, drive shaft disconnect etc. and confirm the 4 down tow in the owner's manual under recreational towing or towing behind a motorhome, not hearsay, TL magazine, "My neighbor had a friend at work who towed a xxxxxxx etc."

I have been reading on the forum that there are problems with towing those cars from 2014 and newer. Have you heard of that?

We currently tow a 08 Saturn Vue, it has been a great car, I am looking to change to a GMC Terrain Denali.

Only certain models of the Jeeps are now towable. They must have the transfer case with the neutral position. Check the Dinghy Towing Guide from MH magazine. Do not trust sales person.
Are you looking new or used? Automatic or manual trans? What kind of weight can your MH pull? What size?

Because I -sometimes- need added space & carry capacity, I purchased a low miles 2009 Saturn Outlook - Last year of production. Seats 7 (8 if kids) for local trips and tows without any problems! Basically, this is all I need to do to be ready to tow - I have a Blue-Ox Adventa setup:
1-I drive up close to the back of the rig
2-Put the tow bar into the received & secure
3-Extend the tow arms to the brackets and secure
4-Backup the Saturn gently until the tow bar locks (usually only a couple of inches)
5-Leave the transmission in neutral and the Key position to ASSY.
6-(Optional - not needed for a short run) Lift the hood and flip the switch to tow mode - same as pulling a fuse but much easier. Thus miles towed do not register on the odometer.
7-Hookup the Lights cable
8-Hookup the braking cable
Do the final walkaround on the rig - and GO!!

We towed an 03 Honda Element for years and thousands of miles. No problems and followed like a shadow. If they were still made and still towable, I would buy one tomorrow

It sounds like you don't need a big SUV. If you want a Honda, it has to be a 2014 or older. We have owned two Honda CR-V's.... a '07 and now a '13. I really like the size and weight of the CR-V.

Now, if I were going to purchase another tow vehicle, I might consider the new small Jeep Cherokee. The small Lincoln SUV looks nice too (need to check and see if it's towable). A lot of the Ford SUV's are towable too. I will certainly miss our Honda as a tow vehicle.

I think you will have a lot of good choices once you determine the size that you want.

I will only drive American cars since I grew up in Detroit and family worked for the auto industry. My 2008 Saturn Vue has been great as a toad with only a switch to flip for towing. The book says remove 1 fuse and that was so hard to put back I put in a switch. I just got a 2016 Equinox and they are also towable by only removing a fuse. I also looked at a Lincoln MKC and they are towable but they are about 800# heavier than the Equinox. Many Ford & GM vehicles are towable. I know my Saturn was Mexican and the Equinox is from Canada but all the profits stay here in the USA.
