I agree it has nothing to do with mileage. It has everything to do with age. I would be surprised if the fuse box is the only electrical part ready to fail.
I had a 1985 Ford class B. Loved that thing but every rubber and plastic part on it had become dried or brittle and something was always failing on it.
The good part is there were tens of millions of those Fords manufactured so normal replacement parts should not be an issue.
