Keep in mind that WH continued building the P30 chassis for quite a few years after obtaining this chassis from Chevy in 99 and it never did have an Allison transmission. It did incorporate both the GM 4L80E and the 4L85E before they discontinued it, in favor of the W chassis.
As a side note, Chevy did build a rare P12 chassis with a solid beam front axle and an Allison transmission that didn't have a parking pawl either, so it did have the auto park system like many others. I have no knowledge of this chassis ever being bought by WH, although it probably should have.
