Birds

For some reason some birds want to make their nest in the grill of
the RV. Saw one come out yesterday morning. Cleaned out lots of leaves and twigs. Last evening check and again full of leaves and twigs. Busy little things. I finally taped some plastic across the
grill to prevent access. Might one to keep a eye on yours if it sits near trees like mine does.
  • They are persistent. Last year the robins insisted on building on a tote box fastened under the nose of our fiver, I have to remove it before nesting season arrives or we will be parked until the young leave.
  • We had a bewick's wren setup housekeeping in our hitch. We were volunteering at the time at a wildlife refuge and told we couldn't leave till the little birds fledged. They did about a week before we were set to leave.
  • Had gulls nesting between slide roof and slide topper. Finally had to pull in slides and move locations. Since then have put mothballs in that area at the suggestion of others and have not had the problem reoccur.
  • That must be those tiny little birds! They ARE real busy ones. I had them make a nest in just a few hours of me parking! They decided to put their nest in the compartment where the electrical cord comes out which you can't close when hooked up.

I shooed them out of there and within minutes they then thought the back of the roof top air would be a good place. :C
  • When we have our canoe on top of the car, we often have nests in the end of the canoe. Went for a walk in Florida and came back to a big wren nest. Every day we had to remove a nest, no matter where we traveled that year.
