Bizarre Electrical Issue: Compartments lock themselves

take the batteries out of the remote...I bet the remote is somehow engaging the system...so isolate it, take the batteries out of it and if it stops, then it's the remote..if it still goes on after the remote batteries are out, check the switch itself by disconnecting it..the switch could be shorted..but I'm betting on the remote
