Black and gray sewer valves open or closed

I have a 2016 ventana I store it in a garage. My question is should I store it with the black and gray valves open or closed? Keep in mind I have properly flushed and cleaned both tanks. I have currently stored it with both valves open for about a week. I do live in Phoenix Az so freezing is not a problem. Today I shut both valves which was very difficult. Thanks for your input.
  • Ole B, you have been a member since 2005, why would you think it's a good idea to leave your tanks open? Leaving them closed is the best thing to do.

Keep'm closed until they fill up.

    Safe travels,

  • Leave them open. Every rat and mouse will make it their home. Next time camping. Close valves before you leave and fill up with water. Drain before you set up camp
  • Closed until they fill up. The flushing action of the full tank emptying carries out the solids with it. Left open - especially the black tank - solids will collect and you'll have the dreaded "brown pyramid" to deal with.

If the cap is on nothing will get in.

Closed. No reason to allow access to critters.

    Agree.
