Mine has a one way valve installed. Yours may be corroded. On mine, the valve can be unscrewed from the inside, (above the valve itself) and cleaned or replaced. Look where you screw the hose on, you should be able to see how your valve is attached. Most screw on but some are held into place with screws. You may have to remove some of the attached compartment sides to get to it....good luck..Dennis
