Puck system & hitch questions

Finding the Puck system to install may be the hard part if you are in a hurry. A lack of the puck system is delaying Ford truck builds. I heard they are only being allowed on custom ordered trucks, and dealers can't order trucks with Pucks for stock, and is for the duration on 2022 trucks.

It's really simple! Sell what you have on CL. Now buy the proper hitch for the puck system you have like this.

To those using Andersen's, please be aware that the Andersen =is= a ball hitch and many states require safety chains, just as if you were towing a gooseneck trailer. Yeah, the chances of you getting stopped for it are pretty slim, but why take the risk?

This is exactly what my brother did for his new RAM 3500 LB. Mine is a standard box (6'10") and I use an Andersen with the factory gooseneck puck.

Another advantage to using the Andersen is that (when installed in the conventional position) it adds extra distance from the pin to the truck cab further reducing the chances of making contact.

IMHO that is throwing good money after bad. Sell the hitch on CL and then buy a new puck hitch.

I saw this to late, when I bought my new ford it didnt have the puck system in it , but it was a kit you could buy and have installed. I got it up here 400ish bucks, and the spots for the holes that need to be drilled are marked out in the box already, so I drilled the holes out and then when I went to remove the box bolts I broke few bits, so I took it to ford and had them finish the install. I would do it all over again if I bought a new truck that didnt have it as the puck system is so much nicer than having rails in the box.

Good choice , although I tow with the steel Andersen ,and the adapter as said . More ,and more are going they way you are , I see many in my travels .
