Sometimes you'll get smells back into the coach if you're "P" traps are not full of water and other times just because of the movement of air around the toilet vent. If you determine it is, in fact, odors coming from the roof vent, you could install one of the Cyclone Vent covers that prevent the odors from reentering the coach.
