I agree with most of what has Ben said. Pull off as soon as it is safe to do so. However I was very familiar with the area and with the highway so busy after checking out the tire I elected to limp to the town about 4 miles down the road. With hazard lights on I made it ok without problems. The tire shop was open but could not change the spare. I'm now about 6 miles from a truck stop that I am pretty sure is open with tire service. I once again limped to the truck stop and got the tire changed. I probably should have called for road service but on a busy highway on Sunday evening I felt best to limp in. I will give it more tout next time( which I hope doesn't happen) . Thanks for the input.
