They will come out the driver's side door. I never would have believed it until I did it myself. Yanked my 454 out. The 8.1 is not any bigger. The extra displacement is in bore and stroke. It should come out the door with a run-of-the-mill engine hoist.
Granted his rig is 20 year newer but they haven't changed much. Mechanically anyway. There were no heads on the the engine when I removed it, but I put the new engine in heads, intake and all with no problem.
