It is - it's a GM Performance crate engine with all the correct truck spec castings.
Stupid oil cooler adapter won't seal. I have to take it out and see what's going on in there.
I had a 2003 GMC with the 8.1 and it had piston slap really bad. Sounded like a diesel.
When I got my motorhome with the 8.1 it was quiet. I asked the Workhorse dealer why it was quiet compared to my pickup 8.1 and he explained that the W22 8.1 used different pistons, etc.
