Seals and other things that wear are replaced... Bacsically a Reman engine has an original block, an original crank MAY have original pistions and head, but the rings are replaced, Connecting rods may or may not be original, bearings are new. The things that wear out are replaced or re-surfaced. (Cylinder walls) you might pick up a cubic inch of displacement if that is done. (or less).
I have a question as I have no idea of the answer.
If an engine is marked 'remanufactured', does that mean it was in use at some point? How many miles would be on it? Is there a limit of age and miles before it can be used and being sold as remanufactured?
How does an engine get to be in the remanufactured bin? Wrecked car?
