I have a question as I have no idea of the answer.
If an engine is marked 'remanufactured', does that mean it was in use at some point? How many miles would be on it? Is there a limit of age and miles before it can be used and being sold as remanufactured?
How does an engine get to be in the remanufactured bin? Wrecked car?

Typically wrecks.
I've had good luck with used engines from wrecks. They were in motion when they wrecked so you know they were in working order.
I would think that depends on the type of wreck, which the buyer of the used engine does not know. A collision from the side MAY be OK but a front or rear hit could transfer a lot of energy through the drive shaft right in to the crankshaft. This may damage a bearing and shorten it's life.
