Also, chassis work on a class C is not all that different from on a plumber bringing in his 1-ton van. On the other hand, a class A...front beam axle, totally-different brakes and steering, 19.5" or 22.5" wheels, and all sorts of different parts.
Depends on the vintage and model. My P30 has control arms and coils up front, not an I-beam front axle. The brakes and steering systems are shared with Suburbans of the day (Hydroboost). Wheels, calipers and pads are bigger but I haven't run into anything so far that is dramatically different than 1-ton pickup. It's just bigger.
Access to the drivetrain on my "A" is much easier than a van chassis, but as someone else mentioned anything you might need to do on a lift changes things dramatically. So far, though, I haven't had to get it up in the air any higher than to change a tire. Trans comes out the bottom, engine comes out the top.
I do worry about the day when the rear air bags need replaced....
