Blown tire advic3

Bought tires 2013. Rv sat for 18 months with tires covered in so cal. 100 miles into this trip and waiting for roadside assistance to install the spare. Do you think i can just buy 1 tire at next tire store? Any telltale signs to know if the others are in their way? Really dont have money to spend on another full set. Tread basically came off inner rear tire.
  • Two rears "are fine" i was going to buy a new tire for the spare. Instead i am going to move one of those two to spare and have 6 new for price of 4 plus i end up with 2013 soare instead of 2009. Hopefully i get another warranty!!! Discount tire....few soconds after typing this much, they only have 4 tires. The left rears stay till later. Maybe on way home.
  • At tire shop now. 3 tires seperating plus tge one tgat came apart...fronts they are blaming on alignment. Rears will be covered by warranty. Didnt even know i had it. Hoping the other two rears are bad too. That would be 6 tires for cost of two. Crossing fingers. No other damage though except the damage to our schedule.
  • If the tire was underinflated and failed, I'd just be looking for one tire.
  • This just happened to me.....

IMHO....Replace ALL tires. The sitting for 18 months had a lot to do with the tire blowing. Mine sat for about the time and an inner tire blew 30 miles into trip.

BTW....Auto Club would NOT change spare for an inner wheel....only outers. Makes no sense but was told that was their policy. They towed me into a local America's Tire store where I replaced all 6 with Michelin LTX M/S2. Took 3 hours before a tow truck capable of towing my 31' Class C could be dispatched

When I got home, I had all metal valve stems installed. Purchased from Tire-Man.

Any other damage? Check inside and around wheel well.

    There's your sign.
  • Hi Jeff92804 - When safe to do so, look at the date code on the side of your tires for date of manufacture. As tires age, they become more susceptible to the type of blowout you described. If you bought them 3 years ago, they could be 4 or 5 years old.

    Thanks again
