Booster switch

I have a 2004 Southwind, 37C with the DVR up in the passenger side corner. I cannot find the switch that would booster the signal. I was told that it may be behind the DVR, but since I am illiterate on electronics, I am afraid to go plundering where I know nothing about. Could anyone with this model MH tell me for sure where that switch is.I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  • on most all A units cheap or high end they all use the booster switch plate that has the little push button switch and green lite.It also has a extra cable out
connection on it also but never has anything hooked to it as most have the distribution box also.(This box selects several sources, (ANT, Cable, Sat, DVD, VCR, Aux) and sends them to the televisions, it can send different sources to different tv's) dont confuse the two items as they serve entirely different purposes/functions

There are two kinds of Winegard switches uses on most motor homes and a 3rd one that is rare, I will cover the first two and how to find them

On many higher units there is a Box of Many Buttons ... it's the button on the left (usually) marked POWER. (That was easy wasn't it)

This box selects several sources, (ANT, Cable, Sat, DVD, VCR, Aux) and sends them to the televisions, it can send different sources to different tv's.

The other one is a wall plate.. USUALLY whit but no guarantee.. If you have this it should have a coax cable hooked to it that goes to the main TV, it will also have a 12 volt outlet, and a small light light on, Antenna on.

The rare one is a wall plate with just a switch and light.. Need not have the light, Need not say Winegard on it, any toggle switch will do. I've actually seen ONE of these in my travels.. Just one.
  • Always found the ANT. Booster switch right on the booster where there is a 12 volt plug.
This is only for OTA TV signal.
