Born Free Motorcoach
It is my understanding they have temporarily closed & laid off their staff, I called & a recording said they are closed until 5/19.

Free class C's are very well put together and they are not cheap! Their exterior design is very aerodynamic and should achieve better fuel economy. My wife and I test drove a Born Free and it handled extremely well! Bags. - More information I got today
The only information I have to post at this time is that the Born Free factory is closed until further notice. When and if the company receives an infusion of additional cooperating capital, then it will reopen. - Cancelled my build it seems they never got the chassis so that means the suppliers were not providing them with the chassis and I ordered mine in January.
- I can see the price of used ones going up as a result. This boom in the RV industry is great but higher priced, higher quality products have a hard time as the competition is tough and price is king to most people.
Charles - I had read this thread before I visited a dealer to look at another rv. The dealer had 2 Born Free units on the lot. I remarked that I heard they were shut down at the moment. This dealer said they had talked to them just a few days ago.
Who knows what to believe anymore? - Due to the death of its founder and serious illness of his son, the company was sold to an investment group in Des Moines, IA. Since then, there have been serious financial difficulties, and the doors have been closed since 5/15.
Although a competent CEO with industry experience was hired 2 years ago, his LinkedIn profile now shows him as "Seeking new opportunities". That's a pretty good sign that our beloved firm is now out of business and proceeding toward bankruptcy proceedings.
Our sympathies go to the deserving employees in Humboldt -- a major employer in this small town, which will be hard hit, and to the extended Dodgen family members. - They shut down. I had one ordered and sadly it will not be built. I will find a used one as close to what I ordered as possible.

Parkview Rv in Smyrna, DE has two on the lot.- Found one almost exactly like I ordered in TX and bought it. They had three people who wanted it and we called first so we got it.
