Brake buddy alert

Recently my alert system for BB quit....I was wondering ,can i just run a wire from the BB into the coach cockpit and install a a light to let me know when brakes apply? Surely it is just 12volt coming out the black wire and white is ground?? I am not too excited about dropping $160 for a new one !!!

    It doesn't affect the braking only lets you know when the brakes are applied.
