Brake controller

How can I find out if my 2002 Gulf stream conquest ford super duty
450 on a f53 chassis was factory wired for a brake controller? If not can anyone tell me how to do this?:h

  • The control will come with wiring instructions if you aren't pre-wired for it.
They aren't too bad to put in yourself if you can crawl around underneath the motorhome.

Please clarify. You posted in Class C and called your chassis F53. That's a Class A chassis. IF you have a Ford-based Class C, E350 or E450, then YES, there should be wiring for a Brake Controller.

I have installed them in Fords, just not E-Series. Should be a square plastic connector. By square I mean four terminals in a square pattern.

That said, I think I saw where E-Series had two connectors that looked alike. One was for Brake Controller and the other for something else. Two different colors of plastic. Gray and Brown if I recall, just forget which is which and what their locations are.

Enough OP's here have done it that you should have details soon. Given it's E-Series...
