carringb,
With my 2007 E350-V10 and TorqShift transmission, when engine braking in low gear down long grades, I am concerned of red-lining the tachometer so I will hit my brakes when it gets close. I wonder if there are safeguards built into the engine or transmission. Are my concerns valid? Should I brake before hitting the red-line? Or just let the engine spin wild without a worry?
