And back the the original question.....
I like NAPA "Ultra Premium Sever Duty" pads the best. I decided to try them after Michigan State police testing found them to be the only pads that bested the OEM pads in both stopping distance and brake fade. Most of the popular aftermarket pads did worse in both categories.
And I can attest from personal experience that the 2009+ Ford OEM brakes are many times better than ANY brake setup from prior. I've tried all the popular upgrades, and nothing came close to the newer stock brakes.
If you really want good brakes, its well worth dropping in a new take-off axle. Besides the much bigger brakes, it'll also net you a better sway bar design, better radius arm design, and all new bigger ball joints. It was the best upgrade I've done, and barely cost more than a full brake job, and much less than a full ball-joint job.
