Brakes in Spokane

Class A Ford chassis.
Who in Spokane WA does good Brake work at a fair price?

My MH brakes have some years on them and just over 40,000 mi. Would like them inspected and repaired if need be.
We are going to start putting some miles on it and want it in good shape before we Head out.
Thanks in advance.
  • The question is going to be who does brake work at a fair price and can handle a Class-A... That's going to be a smaller list.

You didn't mention a year, but the Fords have an oddball caliper mounting system that I don't care for. They also switched piston material on the calipers and I've had issues with some piston types sticking, causing damage.

A normal brake inspection is looking at pad depth and maybe rotor material.

My suggestion would be to have the calipers removed, cleaned up, pins re-greased and change the brake fluid, as it can absorb water. After all that work, new pads and the associated turning of rotors might as well happen too. At a Ford dealer, this will be around $1000...

If you don't want to go in for all that, have it inspected, but definitely flush the fluid.
  • If you can drive across the river to Post Falls. Check with Ross point truck service. They are a nothing fancy shop with a great reputation. I used them several times when I lived there.
Most of the time could ballpark a cost over the phone.

    Chassis is 1999

Good idea on the fluid flush.
I know it would be a bigger chunk of change, but I have not had good luck with turned Rotors. I have found that the thinned rotors do not dissipate heat as well and if you travel as many mountain passes as we do, heat dissipation is important. One might not think that taking .020 off would make a big difference, but it's enough.
  • Not sure about a fair price, but R&R can do them. They have like 40 bays and it is a certified Freightliner shop.
  • x3 on Les Schwab. They do all the running gear on my MH except for an axle seal and abs sensor I needed to have done.
  • Many brake shops can handle my bounder class A. I have more trouble finding shops to work on my KZ TT brakes.
  • I have used Washington Auto Carriage a few times, and am super happy with their service, quality of work and prices. They get stuff done quickly too. They will let you camp over night with 50 amp hook up as well.

    Their number is: 1.800.456.0363
