Mine would not open from either inside or outside. After taking the door handle apart (thank goodness had access thru the cab)..the pot metal slide had broke and therefore the handles could not activate. Went to local (20miles away) rv supply and bought whole new unit, as parts are not available (at least not for my style/kind). The new one just slipped right in, no modification of the opening in door or sash. Whew, glad it happened BEFORE we left for our trip and get caught somewhere where rv supply may not have been available.
