OP, I've "been there, done that". I am not a DIY'er but with a suggestion from this forum, I got the plastic plug out. Go to HD or Lowe's. Go to the lawn sprinkler area and get a device called "nipple extractor" (yes, no lie that's the name on the package). Cost is under $10 - looks like a "T" , 2 size ends - it took some muscle (maybe because I'm a girl) but the snapped off plug came out. I don't leave home without that crazy little tool!!!
