Bubble bath

O.k, next conundumb,.....
Out for the shakedown cruise in the new to us 2012 HR Augusta.
So far, all good, sort of.
No major issues. One puzzlement.
We are at a site with electric only. Using the holding tank for water, obviously.
Water runs, but so does the pump...constantly. I assumed, as with our Suncruiser, that when the system pressurized the pump would shut down. Not so, yet. And, the hot water is hot, but it gurgles and bubbles out of the faucet. My suspicion is that there is a leak somewhere that is allowing air in? That way the line would never pressurize? But, I don’t find any water leaking anywhere. Bad pump?

Thoughts??
  • Outdoor shower valves open? Cracked filter screen assembly on the pump?

Is your "Tank Fill" valve in the "fill" position? That would allow the pump to simply keep running and circulate the water back into the tank.
  • Air in system.........
    Suction side of pump
    'Winterizing valve'
    Pump suction line fittings/clamps
Pump strainer cracked or bad O-ring
    Pump casing cracked

    Replace pump?

have you ruled out all the suggestions noted so far? If not, replacing the pump won't fix your problem.
  • No,...heading home Friday. We are right across the road from the showers and the loo, so we’re ok with slow faucets for now. I’ll check everything out when we get back.

These are things you can check while you are camping.

How long has it been running. Takes a while to fill water heater.
  • Ok, short story long...
Found the pump. Under a box next to the bed. Had been accessed before. Lots of spare hardware in the recess.
Not the issue. Water tank breather tube was plugged. No air out, no water in.
All cleaned, tank full, pump operating normally.

    Thanks to all.

One addendum....the fill line breather tube has a small screen covering the outside end. Ours is corroded badly. I’m going to try to restore it. But, I’d like to get a replacement.
I’ve looked and I can’t find anybody that supplies these tiny screens.
    Suggestions? Make my own??
