Count me in on buying a former rental. This thread was helpful as it didn't take long to see that the best value out there is a good condition rental. Yes I had nightmares of a dozen people on the roof after traveling down 30 miles of washboard road to get to the off-road rally with a beer swilling party after. Best advise I found was treat the deal like any other 'used' purchase... stay sharp, investigate, poke prod, leave no stone yada yada yada. I found the thread heavy on Cruise Am and El Monte info, and I suppose that is for good reason. I bought my Thor Freedom Elite from Camping World who is getting out of the rental business and selling all units. Only a year old but has some mileage... 45k. Driven a bunch but lightly used if that makes sense. Very little signs of wear or scuff marks in drawers or cargo holds. Tires and batts had been replaced and was detailed to the point of looking like new. Even the places the CW decals were removed could not be found. Time will tell how things go, but one thing I'm sure of... all those 'new off the lot' problems have already been taken care of. I'll keep this thread posted... ~Z
