Hello, All:
I'm a Noobie and plan on Purchasing a Former Rental RV from Cruise America this coming month (Feb 2017) out of the Orlando, FL. location. My experience with the RV World has been great as I have rented from Cruise America in the summer of 2014 and 2015. Both times we received, next to new units. Both times we went with the Class C 28A. After figuring that we spent about $5,000.00 for 14 days, each time we rented, we decided to finally dive in and purchase a unit (gotta same some $$$ mulah) and be able to travel more often. Monthly payments for one year would actually be less than renting a unit for only 14 days.
Plus my little ones really enjoyed the RV. When we didn't rent one this past summer they were bummed. So my wife and I are really excited.
Also, just a quick mention. I have read through the entire 63 pages of this Forum and I saw how many posted about the abuse from renters and how they don't treat the Rigs very well and stuff. Well I know from personal experience that Cruise America will charge the customer for every nick and scratch they find on that unit. In fact a damage deposit is due upon the reservation of the unit. They also charge a hefty fee if the unit is returned and it is not cleaned inside and out. I remember that I did a lot of research online and educated myself as to Dumping tanks, Running the Gen., hooking up to landlines and on handling the RV on the road. I learned so much that I was able to educate the dude who rented it to me (LOL). My unit would actually look better, when I returned it, than when they gave it to me.
All in all it was good fun being on the road (drove cross country) and we couldn't be happier about purchasing one. By the way, we have decided to go with the Majestic 28A E450 with the V-10 Triton. I don't really like the slideouts (less to maintain plus kids will probably keep extracting and retracting LOL) and I'm not too fond about marble counters and big tv's as IMO it will simply just add more weight to the unit.
Glad to join this forum and happy trails to everyone!!! Will post pictures of the 28A soon.
