So I just put my deposit down on a 23a from Cruise America. I'm really looking forward to getting back into camping after being out of it for five years. The salesman though, told me the camper I'm reserving is having its roof replaced, and I may have to wait an extra month or so. I could get another model, but it would cost another 2k. Thoughts?
I just picked up my former CA 23a earlier this month, (I owe this forum a report). It was supposed to be ready mid Sept. but it was about 3 weeks late. My point is that expect there to be delays. Last year there were units available on site; this year you have to wait 3+ months. I ordered mine with an awning, but the part hadn't come in so in the spring I'll have to go back to Colorado and have them put it on.
Only you can answer the question if you should wait and get a new roof, or spend the extra money and get the unit sooner. How much camping were you planning on doing in the winter? You waited 5 years to get back into camping, can you wait a little longer for two grand? Why is the other unit more expensive, does it have significantly less miles on it?
