No one knows what it will cost to get this thing running reliably. And probably you won't know for sure. It will be more than you think I promise you that. I can tell you that it would be easy to spend $10k or more depending on what needs done. Tires alone are 1/4 - 1/3 of that. What you will have when you are done is a fixed up unit that still has pretty old electronics, drivetrain and appliances. You think about what it would take to restore a car of that age, and then a house of that age and combine the two. That said I usually opt for new cars and RV's. But lots of folks fix up older ones. It will be a labor of love because you will never recoup the money you spend fixing it up. That said, newer models depreciate so that's true for them too.
If It were me, I would get as best estimate as I could to get it road/camp ready, add a few grand on top of that, and shop around to see what that figure gets you in an already road/camp ready RV.
I just got on RV trader for a quick search and a ton of road ready Class A's came up in the $20k range that are 2004-2006. Georgetowns, Bounders, Hurricanes, Terras, Fiestas, Miradas. And that was literally a 5 min search.
