This makes me think I could be looking at spending another 10K just to get this Class A on the road. Any thoughts or experience with this decision?
Well, $10k for this rig is a good price (if it's not a total wreck), so if you like the floor plan and it's a good looking coach, then any money you put into it won't be wasted. My advise is don't cheap out on the work. Whatever you can do yourself, go ahead and do. But, you should get it into a reputable RV shop for the first fluid change and lube to have them look the coach over so you know what you're dealing with and prioritize the issues. The previous owner(s) may have some deferred maintenance items that you'll want to address. Remember, any thing you don't fix now will break on the road and you won't be able to control the costs then. Before you hit the road you can budget stuff to be fixed.
One last piece of advise from "lessons learned on the big adventure"; if you need to fix any part of the toilet, just buy a new one and replace the whole thing.
