I prefer not to buy someone else's problem. I have no idea how well the previous owner took care of it. It could look nice on the surface and anything can be rigged to work long enough for a showing or two. I'd rather spend more up front than have to put out more money down the line and waste my time dealing with the repair.
We bought our current Class C MH new. Jayco had a great national sale. MSRP was $91,200 marked down to $69,999. We paid a few thousand less than that. The average retail value is about $57k the last I looked about 6 months ago.
Not much of a depreciation and with a 2 year warranty, there was no need to worry about it the first two years and fortunately we haven't had an issue since the warranty expired.
