I understand what you are saying. You want a RV park to get out of the city and have your own entertainment in the RV park. I've seen other parks that do that and it can be a popular venue.
As many times that I've been to New Orleans to experience the "Quarter"...(at least 10 times over 25 yrs.) I've never felt unsafe (typical tourist, right?). Maybe being a male makes a difference?
I did try out the pool at the New Orleans Resort, very relaxing. One thing that you have there that we don't in TN or CA, are those darn love bugs that just cover the front of the coach. What a mess! LOL!
