You will find that from Danbury to Griswold is at best 1 1/2 hr to 2 hr ride....you are correct Ct is not a big state but the traffic is as dense as the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area...the closest campground in the Danbury area would be BranchBrook in Thomaston,Ct....maybe no more that 45 min from it back to Danbury and you have a KOA near Newburgh,NY......about a 40 minute ride to Danbury.....a few north of Danbury but the ride on secondary roads not worth it
Now, there are some great campgrounds near Mystic....Aces High being IMHO the nicest...Chuck
