Winslow Memorial Park is just north of Portland in Freeport, home of LL Bean.
If you want to spend some time Freeport visiting LL Bean and other shops, you can even park overnight in town.
Were heading up to Camden Hills State Park in mid June, will be our first time exploring the Rockport/Camden area. Going to bring our road bikes & kayaks, should be a fun trip! :C

If you go to rv park reviews, go to Maine, Portland, you will find others, plus of course reviews of the campgrounds and their amenities

Libby’s is awesome but pricey and hard to get into.
KOA Bar Harbor is good but we were never there in high season. - Mop340CudaExplorerBig K, No Kids.
- keepmotoringExplorerBig Katuna, agree with you. We also stayed many, many years ago at Bailey's and hated it. First time we had ever heard of "piggyback" sites. But if op has children, might be up his alley. We also have stayed at Wild Duck and enjoyed it, however felt it took us a long time to get to some areas we wanted to explore. Another poster talked about Shore Hills in Boothbay, which we love. Some tent camping, which are at the water, some for smaller rigs, that have plenty of trees and shade, and then an area for big rigs that are pull thurs and back ins. Jean Reny and her staff are very nice. Day trips can be made from Kittery to Belfast. Many great places to eat, shop, see lighthouses from the area. And if you travel with dogs, most resaurants with outdoor seating allow dogs, which we love. If wanting to go to Bar Harbor, I would suggest going farther to find a campground. Boothbay to Bar Harbor is a 4 hour one way drive.

We prepaid a week at Bayleys and we disliked it. No refund, couldn’t leave.
What, 450 sites? Most of them filled young kids and their friends running around like Hooligans.
They had a marshmallow gun fight and were under our camper and picnic table. They rent out big atv pedal big wheels and there were roving biker gangs sliding around on the gravel..almost hit our dogs when were walking them.
The pool had 100 kids doing cannonballs all day.
Parents sat around the campfire all day drinking beer ignoring their kids.
Then it rained and the unpaved roads turned it into a mud pit.
Meanwhile we found Wild Duck around the corner. Adult only, paved roads, salt marsh view. Stayed there a few weeks until we had to leave. Wonderful.
And no, we don’t hate kids. Have two and adore our grandkids. Former Scout leader.
