I also use a Olympic Catalytic heater in the winter. It does not use any 12 volt power, and will put out about 6,000 Btu's of heat, you can keep warm, and even leave the windows open. You need to keep a roof vent open about 1/2" and a window open the same amount. This does use up some of your heat, but overall I can keep my well insulated 30' Bounder toasty warm at 19F outside with the CAT heater and a little time running the furnace. Fred.
After a good search got an Olympic propane catalytic heater as 2nd backup to my overhead heater and my quartz infrared heater. I dont like to be cold! and when I visit my cousin and the temp drops below 40 my overhead heat isnt enough to keep the van warm, and her 120 outside outlet wont let me run my overhead and quartz heater together without blowing the circuit. As it is, I have to turn off the electric heat if I want to turn on my coffee maker, my microwave or fry pan. This is not a problem when I plug into campgrounds. I did get an oxygen sensor with alarm just to be safe. I thread the hose to the propane tank out the back window and that provides the 1 inch open window. What I really like is that I am assured that I have a few days worth of heat per 20 gallon tank. I havent actually tested this.
