camping in Modesto, ca?
I'm looking for a place to camp in or near Modesto. the closer the better. any suggestions?

- There's a thousand trails park in Manteca. Also if you're not picky, there is a campground at the fairgrounds..Also try the Woodward Reservoir is you plan on staying awhile. Nice little campground but not sure how much water is in the reservoir.......Dennis

Fairgrounds - The closest one I know of is on Hwy99 about 20 miles north of Modesto and south of Stockton called French RV & golf.

Good luck! There isn't much in that general area. If you are an Elk, there's an Elk's Lodge on the north side of town that does RV parking. Otherwise, I'd stay at the French Camp RV Park just off 99 at French Camp Rd, between Stockton and Manteca, or I'd stay at the Merced River Resort Camping just north of Livingston off 99.
