Camping Tunica, Ms. What a difference a YEAR makes....SAD !
As many of you know, our oldest grandkids like to spend their summer vacations traveling with us. Last year they flew into Memphis because they wanted to see Graceland and all things Elvis. Anyway, we had booked a two week stay at Harrahs in Tunica at their Mid-South Campground. Beautiful campground right next to the Mississippi River. Here's a couple pictures of the campground from our site:
This year we thought about going back as we headed towards the West Coast and found that tough times have hit the casino market in this area. Harrahs closed it's doors for good on June 2, 2014 and abandoned all three hotels, the casino, the golf course and the RV Park. Here's what it looks like today:
Mother Nature is reclaiming all that land. Kudzu, the weed that's swallowing the South, is waiting in the wings......pretty sad......Dennis
