Merchant's in general are pulling all kind of tricks these days. A true retail price is just an illusion anymore. Offering an outrageous price at first contact is a common trick. Some people bite. Log in on a Mac? They know that, and figure you have more money, and the price instantly goes up. This has been going on for years now. I went to Men's Warehouse to buy a leather jacket. I looked at two; an expensive one and a cheap one. The clerk was watching. I decided I wanted neither, and as I headed for the door she called me back and said "Oh, I think that cheap one is on sale" She scanned it and said "yes $100 off". It wasn't marked on sale. If I had brought the jacket over without leaving, there would have been no sale price. It's all gaming and trickery.
