I am assuming he is going to use a converter plug to connect his 30 amp cord to a 20 amp outlet.
If that is the case, then don't be too surprised if there is, in fact, a problem. I connected my trailer to a 20 amp circuit, which gave me 10 amps per leg. When I tried to run a portable space heater off the 110 outlet in the wall you could almost count the revolutions the fan was turning, and it surely sounded like it was laboring b adly. If the A/C draws more than 10 amps he is SOL. Just my humble opinion.
In other words, whatever is at the pedestal, divide by two.
