30amp service to 50 amp

If you unit is only rated for a 30 AMP service it is not! You can go 50 to 30 but not 30 to 50. I wouldn't want to run 50 amps in on my 30 amp box.

Yes you can get a dog bone but you will still have 30 amp service not 50.

I've seen some at Camping World. Take a look at their web site or call them.

You need to run less draw at the same time...30a or 50a or 1000a it doesn't matter...your 30a system only gets to use 30a at a time.

Can't run air conditioner, microwave, water heater on electric, an electric space heater and a hair dryer at the same time....well, you get the idea.

It won't help your problem. Your unit is wired for a max of 30 amps and plugging into a 50 amp will not get you more power. Those adapters are simply designed to allow you to plug into a 50 amp receptacle IF there is not a 30 available and vice versa.

You might want to see what else you are running while running the AC and turn it off or run another line. Perhaps if you have access to the electrical plug for the microwave, you could run an extension cord between it and a 20 amp receptacle.

Yup it will turn your 30 amp RV on alright but if things went wrong with wiring/overloads and start burning up it will NOT trip the breaker.

I have 30 amp service travel trailer. In the summer I have problems with the breakers tripping when I run ac and other things.

you mention tripping breakers when you turn the ac on and 'other' things. In a 30 amp RV you can NOT have multiple electrical appliances on at the same time.

It IS the nature of the RV beast and you just have to get used to it.

Depends, but a coffee pot and ac usually doesn't work, electric frying pans, fans and ac, and almost always a hair dryer and anything else does not work, etc. etc. In time you will get used to making sure certain items are turn offed before turning another one on.:W

What "they" were telling you about is called a "cheater" box. This is a device that has two plugs on it..one plugs into 30amp and one plugs into 20amp. They used to work ok but the new codes require a GFCI protected circuit at the pedestal and these will not work on a GFCI circuit. Save your money as the cheater box allows 50amp coaches to draw more amps from an older pedestal box.

A better solution is to look at your coach's wiring and pull the A/C off that circuit and install a separate feed for it. This allows you to plug just the A/C into the 20amp receptacle at the pedestal. If you have two A/Cs just rewire one of them...this should solve your problem....Dennis

Bottom line, it will not do what you want. Instead of tripping the 30 amp CG breaker, it will merely trip the 30 amp main breaker in your coach.

Both are 30 amp as is the wiring.

Posts running at about 50% accuracy, not bad for an electrical post here. The cooect answer is you can buy an adapter, but it will not solve your problem. Your RVs electrical service has a main breaker that will limit you to 30 amps of usage, regardless of what size service you are plugging into.

If you are tripping your inside breakers, NOTHING you can do to the shore power input will change the situation.
For anything to change, you would have to upgrade your main inside circuit breaker panel to accept more amps.
