Personally I never understood the fascination for the portable units when there are so many other options available that don't require removing and reinstalling the control unit every time you want to use the toad. Portability??? How many folks really have two or more toads with all the wiring and base plates installed.
A Ready brake system, for example is virtually independent of the toad and costs less than $500.00. Multiple toads...no problem just add an additional cable kit to each one.
M&G costs ~$650.00 and, if you change toads they will give 50% trade allowance towards a new unit.
Being able to hook up the brake system in less than 10 seconds at less than 1/2 the cost seems to good to pass up. Of course the fact that there is no battery drain means you can tow for days without a concern.
