I understand what you're trying to do but if Doug says you can't change the parameters on the AHot, then you can't change the parameters. I'm finding it hard to believe that you can't take one shower when we take back to back showers with a single element aqua hot with the diesel turned off. I would start by checking the resistance of both elements and then making sure that you have power to them. Not trying to be snarky but if both elements are heating and you don't want to waste diesel, take shorter showers.
