We leave the electric on all the time. It's good for about one and a half showers, so we turn the burner on prior to the second shower. Many people leave the burner on all the time. Since the electric is on all the time too, it comes on prior to the burner. Also, on the 450, if the burner is running and providing heat for the coach, and somebody turns on the hot water faucet, the coach heat shuts down until the demand for hot water stops. The larger 600 series AH will run both at the same time.
