Not to complicate the issue, but the answer also depends upon the temperature of the incoming water and the flow rate at the shower.
Both of those factors make a huge difference in the amount of time we have hot water whether on electric or diesel.
If I am using the on board water and water pump, the supply of hot water is almost endless. On the other hand, water at 40's and high supply pressure would result in quite a quick shower.
